Remote Learning Program

A safe space for your child while remote learning is in place.

Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM

For the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, After School will offer all day care with a full-time 5 days a week option and a part-time 3 day option. Our program will run from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm each day.

After School Protocols:

Priority for registration will be given to essential workers and then other families who would like to join.
Children will be put in stable cohorts of no more than 14 children with 3 staff.
Daily check-ins include parents dropping off their child at sign-in desk, temperature check, and brief questioning about any symptoms PRIOR to entering the classroom.
Staff and children will wear masks, physical distance, and no mixing groups.
Children will bring their own lunch and snacks.
Child must bring technology, headphones, and any class work.
Staff will communicate with the teachers and parents about times their child must log in for lessons.

Sample Schedule

Here is an example of a “day in the life” at After School—socially distanced fun and learning.

8:00 am – 10:00 am	CHECK-IN at the outside desk, take temperature, wash hands, etc. Quiet playtime.
10:00 am – 11:30 am	We will begin zoom/distance learning. This may begin earlier based on the children’s class schedule.
11:30 am – 11:45 am	Hand washing/sanitizing.
11:45 am – 12:30 pm	Lunch & free play outside and group games/activities (socially distanced but so FUN): Pool noodle tag, chalk your walk, invisible frisbee, etc.
12:30 pm – 12:45 pm	Hand washing/sanitizing.
12:45 pm – 2:00 pm	Distance learning (if need be). The times may change based on the child’s schedule. Quiet play and art stations for those finished with class work. We will be outside as much as possible for all play times. Examples of play are Mario Kart relay, Simon Says, giant board game play, etc.
2:00 pm – 2:30 pm	Indoor or outdoor free play. The kids will have time to play with their cohort friends. Group games and activities (socially distanced but so FUN and led by staff). Paper airplane contest, score the bacon, leader board activities (anything timed), etc.
2:30 pm – 3:00 pm	Hand washing/sanitizing. Snack time. All snacks must be provided by parents.
3:00 pm – 3:15 pm	Hand wash/sanitizing.
3:15 pm – 4:00 pm	Free play. Time to be social within their cohort groups. Fun outdoor games and music. Indoor art projects, legos, drawing, reading. We will have a STEAM project every Friday at this time. Group games and activities (socially distanced and so FUN) led by staff.
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm	Outdoor and indoor games. Storytime. All children picked up by 5:00 pm.
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm	Staff clean/sanitize the whole classroom for the following day.
